Hi, does anyone know where I can get a book of inlay patterns, something I could scan and run off a copy to glue to the shell to be cut. There has to be something out there but I have not run across it yet, thanks, Red |

Red, Dover Publications has a number of books with patterns that often come with a CD Rom of the same patterns. Another real good source is children's colouring books...I've found interesting animals and flowers that lend themselves nicely to inlay. |

Another good place to get ideas that work well for inlay is stained glass web sites. |

This is the funniest one, but if you think about it, it's true- go to a tattoo place and look through one of their books. Man, they have a ton of designs of all sorts that can be adapted to inlay. |

I have found a couple of books that are quite good for this type of thing... One is a small (pocket sized) book of japanese line drawings, and another is a zoology full of pen and ink drawings of plants and animals. It's amazing where you can find inspiration! |
